50 Things Survey

Print Friendly, PDF & Email
  1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
Combined hot water/garbage/sewer bill, which seems unreasonably high.

  2. What’s the best place to eat a romantic dinner?
There are many around here. Scott’s seafood is a nice, upscale restaurant with a friendly air that is good for a relaxed, intimate dining experience.

  3. Last time you puked?
Fortunately it was longer ago than 10 years (stomach flu)

  4. When is the last time you got drunk and danced on a bar?
    That’s never been my style.

  5. What do you really want to be doing right now?
    Watching a good movie.

  6. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I’ll let you know if I ever figure it out. Serious consideration has been given to: computer programmer, engineer, ornamental horticulturist, architect, landscape architect, corporate attorney specializing in international law, medicine, travel tour guide, and professor.

  7. How many colleges did you attend?
Mostly two, but I have taken a few classes at several others — mostly for job skills or personal interest.

  8. Why did you wear the shirt that you have on right now?
The t-shirt was clean, and it was getting chilly, so the overshirt had to have long sleeves.

  9. GAS PRICES!
They force me to pass along the added cost to my clients. I also ride public transportation whenever it is a viable option.

  10. Get up early or sleep in?
It depends on if you consider 10am to be early or sleeping in. I think of it as early.

  11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you?
English-speaking countries: New Zealand, Austrailia, Canada, U.K., India, certain Caribbean islands, or South Africa.
Non-English ones: Chile, Germany, Argentina, or Brazil.
Who: My parents, who are my best friends.

  12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
I’m usually too groggy to think. Hitting snooze is a reflex action, not a thought.

  13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
    Some day (er, night) dream.

  14. What errand/chore do you despise?
    Paying bills.

  15. If you didn’t have to work, would you volunteer? Doing what?
Yes. Probably something that furthers human or animal rights. Possibly something educational or arts related. Haven’t really thought about it.

  16. Favorite NON sexual thing to do at night with a girl/guy?
Talk. Really! I find it fascinating talking with other people, discovering the world through someone else’s experiences, and learning new things.

  17. A secret that you wouldn’t mind everyone knowing?
    That’s an oxymoron.

  18. When did you first start feeling old?
When I turned 23. Not really old, but I realized that life was moving much faster than I wanted it to.

  19. Favorite 80’s movie?
So many to choose from! Back to the Future is one of my faves that’s very 80s-ish.

  20. Your favorite lunch meat?
Butterball brand turkey lunch meat from Costco.

  21. What do you get every time you go into Costco?
Haha. Butterball brand turkey lunch meat. (I honestly did not read this question until after I answered the last one.)

  22. Beach or lake?
I can’t choose. I grew up only a few miles from the ocean, so it holds a special place in my heart, and it is so beautiful. However, I love the beauty and solitude of sparkling mountain lakes, too.

  23. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual that was invented by someone who died at 20?
Not hardly. I think that family living situations have changed considerably (or perhaps people are more aware of the variety of situations than they used to be). Marriage should be only concerned with the love shared between people, and it should not have artificial limits placed upon it. Two people know when their love is great enough to be married. Nobody else’s opinion should matter.

  24. Favorite guilty pleasure?
Chocolate. Better yet, the chocolate desserts available at a fantastic buffet.

  25. Favorite movie you wouldn’t want anyone to find out about?
None of my favorite movies embarass me. Maybe the number I own, but not the contents.

  26. What’s your drink?
    Water or tea.

  27. Cowboys or Indians?
Since cowboys are becoming rather rare in the United States, I’d probably have to travel to Brazil to meet many. It would be a lot easier to meet an Indian — simply travel to India, since most of the people there are Indians, after all.

  28. Cops or Robbers?
I enjoy movies like Ocean’s 11 and 12, because of their interesting plot twists, but I do not like how they glorify illegal acts. I also always root for the good guys, and I do not have any favorite villians. I guess that means “cops” for me.

  29. Who from high school would you like to run into?
Anyone. I’ve enjoyed reconnecting with old friends online and occasionally in person. Most of the people I really would like to meet again are people I met after high school.

  30. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?
Since I’m not in it, I’m not sure. It’s either Country, Christian, Classical, or 80s.

  31. Norm or Cliff?
    Both kind of annoyed me.

  32. The Cosby Show or the Simpsons?
I watched a lot more Cosby than Simpsons.

  33. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?
I haven’t been in enough relationships to name one. Maybe that is the biggest mistake I’ve made.

  34. Do you like the person who sits directly across from you at work?
Not applicable in my working situation.

  35. If you could get away with it, who would you kill?
    That question highly offends me.

  36. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
    My savior, Jesus Christ

  37. What famous person would you like to sleep with?
Like that’s ever going to happen.

  38. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
I founded and ran a model rocketry club for several years, so you would think I would have. However, they are pretty safe, and I can only remember dousing some smoldering grass with a bucket of water. We did have extinguishers; we just never had to use them.

  39. Last book you read for real?
    Fiction: The Chronicles of Narnia
Non-fiction: Numerous computer books, but I can’t remember which one last.

  40. Do you have a teddy bear?
I still have several stuffed animals from my childhood in storage. I’m sure that some of them are teddy bears.

  41. Somewhere in California you’ve never been and would like to go?
Having travelled throughout most of the state south of the Bay and Sacramento areas, it would be nice to see some of the extreme northern parts.

  42. Number of texts in a day?
Incoming: 2, weather report and Sacrament Kings scores
Outgoing: 0, a text message from me is an absolute rarity

  43. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or relationship?
    Relationship.

  44. Do you go to church?
    Irregularly.

  45. Pencil or pen?
Depends on what I am writing, and what I am writing upon.

  46. Bueller??? Bueller??? Bueller???
    Funny movie.

  47. How many jobs have you had?
More than most people my age, though most during my college years were short-term from the start.

  48. What do you want to achieve in life?
I want to be the best person I can be, taking care of the people I care about, and enjoying my time here as I do it.

  49. Do you believe in God, Karma, the Afterlife, etc.?
Absolutely. Though I imagine that we will all be surprised at how different it all is from our own limited concepts of such matters.
